I had a chance on this rainy day to browse through your website Virginia. Your work is skilled, detailed and fabulous. You capture Newfoundland so well! Keep up the great work.

Oh my land! When my husband and I visited St. John's (and the Avalon Peninsula in 2005) we went into the Nonia Shop on Water St. and I purchased some beautiful writing cards. These cards are incredible - so much so that I still have the little packet intact....I just prefer looking at them myself....very selfish indeed. Just this morning I was searching for some info regarding the Grenfell Mission and I happened across your website this is when I thought my goodness this art looks like my little cards. Hastily I flew to my desk and lo and behold I AM THE HOLDER OF SOME OF YOUR ARTWORK......better than winning the lottery!!
You have an incredible gift....keep on keeping on!!
I am a very proud Newfoundlander.

To Benjamin Trickett Mercer:
Yes, I certainly do remember you, Benjamin, and your Art talent when you came to Art classes at my studio in NL. Glad to hear that you enjoyed those classes and that you have since enrolled in the Visual Arts program at the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College. Long may your wonderful paintings hang on your walls in Mount Pearl. Have a great career and future. Take care.

However doubtful that you remember me, as I was maybe 10 or 11 years old when taking art classes in your studio on the Eastern Coast of Newfoundland, your paintings are fantasic to say the least. I am grateful that I was able to learn from you at such a young age. Though I have almost abandoned painting completely, it was your immense talent which provoked my interest in the arts years ago that has transpired into my enrollment at SWGC in the Visual Arts program. I am glad to see that your passion to paint and to create artwork is still very much alive. On a seperate note which hopefully brings a smile to your face, paintings which you helped me create in your studio still proudly hang from the walls of my home in Mt. Pearl.
