Curling is situated along the shores of the Bay of Islands on Newfoundland’s west coast. Formerly known as Birchy Cove it served as a marketing and distribution point for the local fishermen since fishing was its commercial activity. In 1956 it was amalgamated with the now “city” of Corner Brook. The summit of the Captain James Cook Memorial lookout provides to visitors a view of Corner Brook and surrounding area.
