SUNDAY AFTERNOON ON GEORGE STREET
George Street is the most popular street in the oldest city in North America, and is named after King George III of England. Located in downtown St. John’s, Newfoundland, it is the home of numerous bars, pubs and restaurants. It is the place where tourists, conventioneers, new and old friends meet to enjoy various genres of music or just relax and eat in some of the famous eating establishments. The street, indeed much of the old downtown, exudes European charm, traditional Newfoundland hospitality and an old-fashioned good time for all who stroll along its sidewalks and visit its cafes.
